"To Feel Great or
to Feel Great About Yourself?"
What do you prefer? Of course I believe it's better to feel great about yourself!
See, I think these two states are quite different and although they sound very similar, they are not. Watching an excellent movie or spending time with a dear friend, taking a nice long walk along the beach will most likely be very enjoyable. You can experience very pleasant emotions in a lot of circumstances. That is if you want to of course, because you are the one in control. You choose your emotions. Nobody can ruin an experience for you, but you.
You don't need to feel great about yourself to be able to fully enjoy yourself.
To truly feel great about yourself you need to totally accept and respect yourself. The moment you can do this, you'll notice a very big change in your life. Your body will respond in a very positive way. You won't get sick that easily or feel depressed as often or whatever else might be troubling you.
"You Can't Feel Great All the Time"
We as human beings are capable of feeling hundreds of emotions. I have seen a list of over 300 positive feelings and a "teaching list" of over 450 emotions. I didn´t even now most of them. So why limit ourselves to just feeling great? Why not feel awesome, successful, appreciated or ecstatic? Although these are all positive emotions, they all differ in energy. It's the energy combined with the thoughts you create at a certain moment, that produce the way you feel.
So, I don't think that it's possible to feel great all the time unless you feel great about yourself. Because next to there being so many emotions to choose from you'd end up not realizing you felt great anymore. It would be so normal to you that you'd need to feel even greater to be able to feel great. We live in a world were things are relative. You can feel that something is cold because your hands are warmer than the object you are touching. If your hands are the same temperature or colder than whatever you're touching, you wouldn't perceive it as cold.
So we "need" some downs in order to notice our ups and visa versa. The wonderful thing about feeling great about yourself though is that you won't feel down for long. When you come to a stage in your life where you´ve found a way to get yourself out of that down in the "right" way, it might seem like you're feeling great all the time. And what's even better is that you'll be more "aware" and see the moments you're down as lessons you need to learn about your self instead of getting trapped in the worry and anxiety.
The "right" way to get out of the moments you don´t feel that great is to become conscious of why that particular circumstance is in your life. If you can find out the underlying thoughts and believes you can get rid of them and you'd have learned your lesson.
Luckily once you've learned your lesson you don't have to go through that situation again. Once you've turned your believes about something around, it's not necessary to go through another test.
So study your self and your self talk every chance you get and learn your lessons. It will leave more space for positive experiences in your life...
I would really suggest BSFF (Be Set Free Fast) as a method to go through your life lessons, because the moment you realize something's wrong you can use BSFF to get rid of the underlying believes and make room for new uplifting ones.
Good luck on your journey to feeling great about yourself.
