Welcome to my 3rd Friday "Feel Great About Yourself" Tip. This is where I get to give you an inspiring tip, to help you feel great about who you are. I suggest you read the tip carefully, pay attention to any emotions or resistance that might come up and use your BSFF cue (if you have one) to release them. If you don't have a cue yet, go here to learn more about BSFF.

"Find out how long it takes for you to adapt to change."


Exploring the Tip

Did this tip bring up any emotions or resistance? If so, you know what to do.

With the new year coming up we're all thinking of things we'd like to change and/or improve. Our new year's resolutions, but how successful do you think you'll be? Do you know how long it takes for you to get used to doing something differently?

The easiest way to find out, is to make a simple change and see how long it takes for you to be familiar with the new circumstances. For example sleep on the other side of the bed or faced the other way, brush your teeth with your other hand or anything you consider easy enough to not give up on.

Once you've figured out how long it took you to get used to doing things in this new way and how persistent you were, you'll have an idea of how successful you could be changing a habit or starting a new one. It's also very empowering to know what type of person you are when it comes to dealing with change. You might finally realize why it has taken you so long to make the changes you so badly want to make.

So I suggest you start small and simple. Once you're able to make simple changes easier and faster, you can go for the "harder" stuff, like quitting smoking or any other "bad" habit.

Trust me you'll feel great about yourself when you're able to give up on something that's not serving you and implement some "good" habits.
