In this edition of my newsletter I would like to talk about choices and how important they are.

By the end of the message you will be making your choices based on the best source of information.

Did You Choose Yet...?

Read the quote above again.

As the professor says our choices are far more important than our abilities. In every moment we have the power to choose. We cannot always foresee the consequences and that makes choosing scary most of the time, but at the end of the day everything is a choice.

For example you can choose to get up on the “right” side of the bed or the “wrong” one. The way you start your day says a lot about what your day is most likely going to be like. And believe me you can choose. You can wake up and think “Oh no, another day at that lousy job” or “Let’s see what goodies today will bring me”.

You may not realize it consciously, but we make choices all the time. What are we going to eat, are we going to put on that sweater or not, are we going to check our email or not, are we going to meet that friend for lunch or not… you get the picture.

By the way there is no such thing as a bad choice. It’s the consequence of a choice that might give you that impression. Any choice you make is the right one, because you learn from it (well, you’re supposed to…smile).

So did you choose yet? Did you choose to feel great about yourself yet? Yes you can even choose for that. You can choose to be happy, you can choose to be wealthy…

The moment you make the choice, the circumstances that make you feel great about yourself, make you happy or wealthy, will show up in your life. It may not be easy for you to make these types of choices. I fully understand. Looking at yourself in the mirror and feeling you’re not worthy to be happy can make it really hard to make the choice to be happy, but you DO have the power to do it.

What has made making choices like that quite easy for me is meditation. When you are able to sit in silence and quiet the mind, answers to any questions you have can arise from your heart. Your heart is the one that has all the answers. The mind thinks it does, but it doesn’t. Its judgment is clouded by our beliefs. Listening to your heart is not as hard as it may seem. The way the heart speaks to us is in ideas. Ideas will rise up from your true self and you will "know" it's the right choice to make.

So if you’ve never tried to meditate or you do, but not regularly, because you always have an excuse not to, please just do it. Make the choice to meditate before you go to sleep and when you wake up in the morning. Those are the times that it’s easiest to quiet the mind. During the day the mind is very active, but as you get ready to go to sleep, it’s tired as well and as you wake up, it also needs time to wake up…

Now remember “You have the power to make the choice to feel great about yourself”. Once you do, be patient and be willing to go with the flow…
